Public Hearings

–Proposed annexation at 1292 Highway 290 West.  3.46 acres located on north side of 290 West, approx. 800 feet west of intersection of 290 West and 87 West.  For mixed development of 50 room hotel and 120 high-end condos.  Developer to submit plans to City and P&Z for review.

Unfinished Business

–Discuss and consider revisions to Noise Ordinance.  One zone (commercial and residential) for entire city.  Three time periods (7 am-8 pm day, 8 pm-11 pm evenings (Sun-Thurs), 8 pm-midnight evenings (Fri/Sat), 11pm- 7 am night (Sun-Thurs), midnight-7 am night (Fri/Sat). Decibel levels 85 day, 70 evening, 60 night.  Sound to be measured no less than 75 feet from source of sound.  Exemptions only for Fairgrounds and Stadium events, and Nimitz events.

–Receive and consider comments regarding Baron’s Creek flood plain issues in the area near 505 E. Ufer St.   Bill Joseph, Larry Nevels. 

–Consider amending resolution adopted April 7, 2008 to include leasing and financing EMS ambulance with Golf Carts in the personal property lease and financing with Houston Community Bank and designate the agreements as qualified tax-exempt obligations.

–Consider enactment of moratorium on installation of changeable electronic variable message signs for 60 days to accommodate review of sign ordinance.   Re TXDOT deadline on electronic billboards June 1.

–Consider appointments to Animal Issue Committee (for emergency care in case of disaster). John Culpepper.  Appointments by city:  2 year term- Wayne Geistweidt (Gillespie Livestock Co.), Yvonne Gerhardt (City of Fbg Animal Control Office)  1 year term- Eduardo Cvercko (Independent Business Consultant), Kristie Jacoby (HCSPCA)
